| Paula is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts (Boston) with a B.S. in Education. She continued her graduate studies in English and Journalism at California State University (Hayward). She holds secondary, adult, and ESL (English as a Second Language) teaching credentials issued by the State of California. She has more than twenty-five years of English language teaching experience. The Hewitson Family (Paula, her pharmacist husband, Russ, and their three young adult children) live in Pleasanton, an attractive suburb of San Francisco. Pleasanton is conveniently located about 35 miles east of San Francisco and well-connected by public transportation (B.A.R.T.) to SF. Paula is active in community as well as professional organizations. She belongs to the NCHRA, (Northern California Human Resources Association), the American Association of University Women, and the National Association of Educators in Private Practice. She has served on the Board of Directors of Business Women's Network, a local chapter of the National Association of Female Executives and that of the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce. As an educator, Paula values travel and multi-cultural experiences. Paula and her husband are avid travelers who have visited destinations in Asia and the Pacific Islands, Australia, Europe, North Africa, Mexico, and Central and South America. |
