Your teacher is Paula. She is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts in Boston. She continued her graduate studies in English and Journalism at California State University, Hayward. She holds secondary, adult and ESL teaching credentials.

 Paula is the founder and former director of Verbatum On-Site Instructional Services, a firm which contracts with area businesses to provide on-site customized oral communications courses.

In the spring of 2000, Paula received her first request to receive a homestay student of English. It was the beginning of a wonderful adventure that Paula and her family continue to enjoy.

 Paula's a member of the American Association of University Women, The American Association of Educators in Private Practice, and she has served on the board of directors of Business Women's Network, a local chapter of NAFE. (National Association of Female Executives)

Paula's husband of 34 years, Russ, is newly retired from a long and satisfying career as a registered pharmacist and business owner. He will be your co-host.

 He's a graduate of the University of the Pacific and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retains memberships in numerous pharmacy professional organizations.

 Together, he and Paula share an interest in world travel. They have visited destinations on 5 continents. They also enjoy skiing together in winter. Additionally, Paula loves to walk and swim while Russ enjoys his hobby of model trains.

 Russ and Paula are the parents of three young adult children (ages 27-30) who are all independent and live on their own.
